Breakdown
  • Modeling- Josh Burton did the character models as well as their morph targets and some of the prop modeling. Scott Englert did the set and most of the prop modeling. Josh used Lightwave for modeling and Scott used Maya.
  • Rigging- Josh Burton rigged Perok and the clay character as well as the wheel clay for making pots. David Bokser rigged the Potter and Scott Engert made a very cool rig for the wheel using mel scripting he also rigged the broom. All rigging was done in Maya.
  • Special FX- All special effects for the film were done by Jon Campbell including the breath of life, liquid light and pixie dust sequences. Jon used Houdini for the fx work. Jon also set up the technique for matching Maya and Lightwave cameras in Houdini.
  • Dynamics- Scott E. did the hair dynamics and the Potter's fat and jowl jiggles in Maya.
  • Compositing- Done by William Atkin using D2's Nuke and Shake. Josh did some proxy comping and testing with Digital Fusion.
  • Houdini shader for the liquid light- done by Matthew Parrot.
  • Lighting- Josh did it in Lightwave using Worley's amazing Fprime as a previs tool and final renders being straight Lightwave 8.0.1.
  • Texturing- Josh did Peroks and all wood objects. Scott E. did everything else minus the Potter which was done by Scott Spencer in Zbrush.
  • Final Surfacing- Josh tweaked and balanced all textures and character surfaces in Lightwave.
  • Sound Design- Sound Design was done by Hunter Curra. John Austin did some sound research and experimentation before the final sound was complete.
  • Cinematography- Josh is guilty of this one too.
  • Music- The very talented Kyle Reeder and Mark Evitts (www.kyleandmark.com) allowed us to use some of their music
  • Musical Edit- Lauren Burton edited the music to fit the film.

You may not wanna look at the breakdown on animation till you've seen the film as it it partially reveals some surprises.
