Sometimes life is made easier by using some third party tools in support of your main applications We found that to be the case in this project and here are some of the tools we used.
- dwCharacterSetPicker - A great scipt for quickly selecting character sets. I prefer character sets to quick selection sets, so this is a favorite of mine. Thanks Dave!
- zooSetMenu- A script for selecting, managing and keying quick selection sets which all characters have set up. Map it to a quick key
- zooTangentWks- Makes modifying existing, and setting default tangents a breeze when set to a quick key as a marking menu.
- Packageman rigging tools- A nice rig and some phenomenal tools to use when rigging.
- Jason Ospia's book tools - I absolutely love Jason's facial rig, this book is a great starting point for all things facial aimation. You gotta buy the book to get most of the tools, but the next is a freebie
- Blend Taper -
If you've not checked out the blend taper tool, you're really missing out. It makes setting up left and right versions of blendshapes a breeze. It was originally written by Harry Michalakeas at ReelFX but was recently updated by Mark Behm of Blue Sky. Great stuff!

- Point Oven - This is really a Maya/Lightwave plugin, but it's the pipeline tool that's making this project possible. Translate camera, animation and particle data between Lightwave, Maya, Messiah, and soon for Softimage.
- Normal Displacement - Lightwave's displacement plugin don't work so well, so we used this one, which does.
- AmbOCC - Without this plug, doing an ambient occlusion pass wouldn't have been possible...so can you guess what it does?:)
- EXR Loader/Saver - EXR was our file format of choice, so we needed this bad boy to make it happen.
- Fprime - Perhaps the greatest lightwave plugin ever created for those of us that are lighting challenged. It is a real time surfacing and render previewer and is the most interactive and fast renderers I've personally worked with. It will enable you to understand surfacing faster than you realize because of instead of rendering every change of setting you make, you can see them in real time. The plugin is worth its weight in gold...but it's software...its cyberweight?;)
