would a boston terrier make a good dog for our family?
we are a family of 4 with two teenage children (15 and 18) we live in a townhouse with an average size garden and plenty of fields to walk in, we also have two elderly cats (age 10) and we are out everyweek day for about 4 hours. i was wandering if the Boston Terrier would be a compatible dog for our lifestyle and circumstances with the cats.
I have Bostons and I adore them. They were bred for companion dogs and they do that very well. Very loving and very smart. Although it depends on the individual dog, I have always been able to train my dogs to get along with the cats. Although it might annoy elderly cats by wanting to play all of the time. They require minimal grooming and always look well dressed, (Hint- red leather collars look AWESOME on them) Now here are all of the downsides to owning a Boston (that I can think of). Of course, since I love love love the breed, I just consider them perks 
They can be harder to housebreak but it can be done.
They snore and pass gas
They are terriers so some can have a high energy level (learn to direct that energy)
High prey drive- a 'small and furry' pet might be a problem- Upside is they LOVE to play
Really, the only situation that I would not reccommend a Boston would be a family with small children.
