renault laguna heater not working?
Hi , i have a renault laguna elise 16 valve v reg 2000 with aircon
my heater blower has suddenly stopped working ,doesn't work on
any setting and i have been told its possible its the heater fan
or the resistor or both.The heater stopped working when my
window wiper water had run dry ,i noticed i had run out of water
and topped it up at a local garage and suddenly the heater stopped.
I have found both the heater fan and resistor parts at a local scrapyard
but not bought them yet as i am having trouble removing the heater
fan and locating the resistor ,i have removed 3 screws from the heater
fan located under passenger side footwell and the fan simply drops out
but there are 2 wires attatched to the fan that go all the way inside the
back of the passenger side dash,cant find the connector blocks for the
wires.
do i need to take out the dash/glove compartment to locate the wires
and possibly the resistor as well.

On the fan motor housing there is a small black plastic cover that comes off to enable disconnection of the two wires going in to the fan unit. The wires pass through two small cut outs in this removable plastic cover. If you were able to follow those two wires up behind the dashboard you will find they actually connect to the resistor pack. You do need to remove the glove box to gain access to the resistor pack, but it is really easy. Lift the front edge of the small base lining in the glove box to reveal three 20 torx screws, along the top edge you will find four more torx screws. Remove the glove box light and then you can remove the glove box. The resistor pack is located in the top of the heater box, it has two connectors going in to the top of it and two wires coming out of it that go to the fan unit.
