refining gold plating.....?
I have about 4 pounds of gold plated crap (jewelery, connectors, ect..) I know how to refine gold plated stuff chemically and i also know its pretty dangerous, but does anyone know if its even worth my while? How much will 1 pound of gold plated stuff yield?
really , the weight of gold you would get off that lot would not be more than 2-3 grams . also by using using hydrochloric and nitric acid to strip off the gold is worth more then the gold would be , gold is selling at approx.$20 a gram
gold is put on by thickness .2 to .5 of a micron thick. ,se all your jewellery as is , you will get more money
