Why use dogs to detect toxic mold?
There have been reports of various companies of mold remediation using dogs to detect the presence of toxic mold in homes.
Obviously, this is probably not a good idea from the service of remediation, because the animals are no less vulnerable to the effects of toxic molds and other fungi that we humans are.
Any medical mycologist you happily provide this information and inform you also that the practice of using dogs to sniff out the mold is not something that should be promoted. It is cruelty to animals and must be stopped.
In modern times, there is no any reason for this method of detection of mold to continue at all for any reason. There are many other ways to detect the mold besides putting a helpless animal in danger.
Dogs can not identify what species of mold is present or in what quantity, only certified and qualified scientists are able to do this.
Some will tell you that they use dogs because of health risk it presents to humans to detect the mold themselves, but this claim is not worthy of anyone's belief.
The fact is that the inspectors and investigators mold that become defective and develop serious lung diseases and skin contracted them because of the misuse of their personal protective equipment.
Costumes and Biohazard respirators should be used when a trader tries to locate and remove the mold from a home or business. Diseases and conditions that may be caused by the mold may well have resulted in death and while we humans have the ability to go to a doctor and when we recognize, dogs and other animals have no choice.
It is frequently the case before an infection associated with mold occurring in a pet is recorded, it is completely beyond treatment and the animal must be filed to avoid further pain.
Our pets can be affected by fungal eye infections, respiratory diseases, kidney and other infections caused by pathogenic molds. After an exposure to toxic or allergenic molds, the body's immune system develops an allergic sensitivity and become less able to defend themselves against opportunistic infections.
Please do not hire anyone who uses dogs to detect mold for the mold in your home or business. If you would not leave your own pet be used in such a way, why would you allow another animal? There are plenty of other ways for a reputable company for mold remediation detect mold in your home.
