A nativity scene, menorah, and a whole lot of nothing?
In eastern Colorado, a social worker was in charge of holiday decorations. He chose to put up a nativity scene around the center of town. This drew complaints. The worker then decided to relocate the decorations to a more open area.
The new location had a nativity scene(for Christians) a menorah (for the Jewish) and... a whole lot of nothing for the atheists! XD
This actually happened just this past Christmas season.
So, what is your response to this?
Yeah, I am sure this ticked off many who don't believe in the free expression of Religion in this country. They will say that the Nativity Scene and the Menorah violate their right to have no religion. (which is a belief system in and of itself). What a shame, and what a mess. Despite that their are millions of Christians and Jews in this country and a small minority of atheists who oppose this, the majority is supposed to bow down to the minority. As a Christian, I will take a tact that some of my fellow brothers and sisters may disagree with: Take down the Nativity Scenes and the crosses in the public square. These are traditions of men anyway, not scriptural commands of any sort. Let us not make anything a stumbling block for the unbeliever. Let us "consider others, better than ourselves", as scripture calls us to do, and let us be humble, as we are called to be.
