What are the steps to applying plastic laminates to a table top?
New table or old table?
First you need to know if there is a finish on it and if that finish will stand up to the glue. Then you need to give it a scuff sanding to make sure the glue will stick.
cut the laminate slightly larger than the table.
If it will then you spread the table top with an even layer of contact adhesive, the same thing to the laminate.
Let the adhesive dry thoroughly, this is important. Then carefully get the laminate into position but don't let it touch the table until it is in the right place.
Put it down on the table and use a laminate roller to apply pressure all over it.
Now that it is stuck down you trim it with a laminate trimmer to the same size as the table and apply the edge banding.
